1st Day Back

Up at 2AM. It’ll probably catch up with me tomorrow. Lots to do anyway, it’s Saturday, so not worried.

Before I start posting pictures, I want to start watermarking them; if and where they’re being used by other sites. Fisgard Lighthouse is somewhat unique in that almost every other photo has the attached red structure placed on the left, whereas I went around the other side of the island so the building is on the right. The photo of the lighthouse from the top of Diamond Head on Oahu is zoomed in far more than most.

Anyhow, this photo here, the Hungerford Bridge in London, has my Digimarc ID embedded so it should come up when I run searches. We’ll see …

Back in London

Determined to make a log this time!

Back in London again. Must make time for some pictures this trip. British Airways is not as nice as Virgin Atlantic’s Business Class. Berths face each other; real awkward. Divider went up in 8 seconds. Flight was delayed approx. 5 hours, didn’t arrive at Heathrow until 6:45PM, but it was good to see Nick so quickly. Got me right to the Charlotte Street Hotel, who has smoking rooms!! Very nice; much better than the technotel we stayed at last time.

Shouldn’t $30+ cover all internet charges, no matter how many devices you have? Convinced the UK doesn’t know what lunchmeat is. A “traditional” club sandwich includes a ham steak, a turkey breast and my all time favorite, cucumbers, with a nice garnish of what looks like the weeds I pulled from my backyard last weekend. And I don’t want to know the source of the milk; that weren’t US cow I was tastin’ ….

OK, that’s two nites in a week where I’ve stayed up past midnight.

Been a while …

Been busy working on the Portfolio section and SE au Naturel.

Congrats to the Cardinals for beating Texas in the World Series. I still think Nelson Cruz misplayed Freese’s 9th inning triple that tied Game 6. That was a poor leap attempt; he jumped too soon. Hell, play the carom off the wall and keep Berkman at third. But that has to be one of the greatest at-bats of all time. Poor Nolan Ryan. The Rangers better be careful; they’re halfway to becoming the Minnesota Vikings of Major League Baseball.

Sharks are on a roll, having beaten the Islanders in OT to win their 5th straight. Little Joe has 5 Goals, 4 Assists, 9 Points in that 5 game span.

Can’t wait for today’s 49er game. The Cleveland Browns are in town and I expect the Niners to destroy them! I watched the Raiders play the Browns a couple weeks ago, and I’m really surprised at Colt McCoy’s arm strength (or lack of). Every pass looked like a lame duck; I’m predicting he’ll throw 3 interceptions today, Rogers will get one and so will Goldson.

Got an iPad 2 and Apple Wireless Keyboard. Absolutely love it! Sorry Chromebook. The integration between the iPhone, iPad, iTunes and Apple TV is amazing.

This time next week I’ll be in London. Starting to get a little nervous …

Not this Sunday

Niners looked great! Harbaugh for Mayor! And what was the post-game scuffle all about? Jim Schwartz is a putz and the Lions are overrated. We will destroy the Browns in two weeks.

Congrats to the Texas Rangers for advancing to the World Series for the second straight year. But I was rootin’ for the Tigers, damn it. And Milwaukee blew it, so it’s Cardinals vs. Rangers in the World Series. Gotta root for Hamilton and Texas.

Rented Bridesmaids last night. Melissa McCarthy is absolutely hilarious. I haven’t laughed that hard in months.

Almost done …

Pond is almost done. Went to Petsmart to look into pond plants, but it’s too late in the season; we’ll have to wait ’til Spring for fish and plants. But Chris wants to plant fish … NOW!

Took Tyr and Vor to the Vet. While Vor is in the office and Tyr and I are waiting in the truck, someone brought in a lap dog and Tyr went completely ballistic.

4-1 !!

Defense is awesome, A. Smith looks like a quarterback and the 49ers are rollin’. Love the 3 tight end set. Gore’s going wherever he wants. Snyder has taken over right guard, Rachal maybe gets in on the PAT team. Good job Adam.

24-3 at half. Have to say, the halftime adjustments the 9ers are making this year is far better than anything I’ve seen in years. Harbaugh is absolutely, positively an upgrade from Nolan and Singletary. Can only imagine how those two used to conduct halftime.

Dakota Watson just adds to the penalty yard total for the Bucs by getting a “leveraging” personal foul, and instead of 3 points, he gives the 49ers a first down. Next play, Vernon Davis scores again, making it 41-3. Kellen Winslow actually gets quite emotional. Daryl Johnston can’t say enough good things re: Smith and the team. Saw it in preseason; Kendall Hunter is a keeper. Gore’s done, and Hunter gets the call.

Kaepernick in, Smith done for the day. Anthony Dixon from 1 yard makes it 48-3. Thanks for showin’ up Tampa Bay. Really looking forward to the Detroit game tomorrow nite and next week!
