Sabbatical Week 1 – Maui, HI

Posted by on Sep 22, 2012 in Featured, Travels | 0 comments

Spent the last week at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. Can’t beat Room 6114; ground floor, not another room closer to the beach. Top-notch service; extremely kind and quick to accomodate every request. Awesome sunrises and even better sunsets. Spent a majority of the time at either the Serenity Pool or the beach just off the hotel property. Dined at Monkeypod Kitchen, Mala, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Originally intended to stay at the Four Seasons but...

1st Day Back

Posted by on Jan 7, 2012 in Good Days | 0 comments

Up at 2AM. It’ll probably catch up with me tomorrow. Lots to do anyway, it’s Saturday, so not worried. Before I start posting pictures, I want to start watermarking them; if and where they’re being used by other sites. Fisgard Lighthouse is somewhat unique in that almost every other photo has the attached red structure placed on the left, whereas I went around the other side of the island so the building is on the right. The photo of...

Back in London

Posted by on Jan 3, 2012 in Featured, Travels | 0 comments

Determined to make a log this time! Back in London again. Must make time for some pictures this trip. British Airways is not as nice as Virgin Atlantic’s Business Class. Berths face each other; real awkward. Divider went up in 8 seconds. Flight was delayed approx. 5 hours, didn’t arrive at Heathrow until 6:45PM, but it was good to see Nick so quickly. Got me right to the Charlotte Street Hotel, who has smoking rooms!! Very nice; much better...

Been a while …

Posted by on Oct 30, 2011 in Good Days, Sports | 0 comments

Been busy working on the Portfolio section and SE au Naturel. Congrats to the Cardinals for beating Texas in the World Series. I still think Nelson Cruz misplayed Freese’s 9th inning triple that tied Game 6. That was a poor leap attempt; he jumped too soon. Hell, play the carom off the wall and keep Berkman at third. But that has to be one of the greatest at-bats of all time. Poor Nolan Ryan. The Rangers better be careful;...

Almost done …

Pond is almost done. Went to Petsmart to look into pond plants, but it’s too late in the season; we’ll have to wait ’til Spring for fish and plants. But Chris wants to plant fish … NOW! Took Tyr and Vor to the Vet. While Vor is in the office and Tyr and I are waiting in the truck, someone brought in a lap dog and Tyr went completely ballistic. Goin’ mobile

From my iPhone. I wonder if anyone’s ever conducted a study of bad auto drivers and their shopping cart courtesy. Costco on Monday at 10AM isn’t any better than a Saturday morning. Looking for Trouble

No sign of Trouble. Damn it. What was he doing up in the hills? Precious, Tyr & Vor can all sense it I think. Steph’s heartbroken. Rented Thor. Glad I didn’t buy it. What an ending

Posted by on Oct 1, 2011 in Bad Days | 0 comments

Just took Tyr for a walk this morning. Still pretty dark, I noticed a coyote about 30 yards to my right. Reeling Tyr in, I whipped out the camera and took 2 pics (they didn’t come out). Anyway, the coyote took off, I stuffed the iPhone back in my pocket, turned around to head up the trail and noticed something ahead laying off to the side. As I got closer, I got a eerie feeling. There lay what looked...

Wasted Day

$394 in two days, $220 tomorrow, or $189 in 45 minutes in my driveway. Interesting. Let me think …. PTO day, window fixed. Pond liner ordered? Check. Well, nothing got stolen today and my root canal is tomorrow, so I guess it’s a good day. Happy Birthday Google! Monday Monday

What’s so good about it? Eastbound traffic on East Leland blocked again at the Pittsburg apt. complex. Fire truck, at least 8 police cars, lights flashing, police tape. Another shootout at 4AM? Got to find out what happened this time. I stay late at work for a pointless meeting and when I finally get to my truck, I find someone had smashed in my window and stolen all my hunting gear. Can’t wait for my root canal! Vacation countdown:...
